NTA if taking a picture with his loved ones is making him miserable leave his ass, a photo takes 1 min. As long as you’re not excessively taking pictures all the time, I believe he’s wrong

Bro NTA taking a picture with your family should not make you miserable- it should make you happy to have your family and remember those times with them in the future. Him acting like that is fucked up and I’m glad you went somewhere you were appreciated and cared about.
