NTA!!! I work summer camps every season and obviously we could not leave until the last kid left. One kid didn't get picked up until the very last minute cause her mom worked until 5 (camp officially ended at 5). Thing is, she worked with her boss to be able to leave a few minutes early so we don't stay late. On top of that, she is in and out in 30 seconds because she knows that we wanna go home. You gotta respect employee's time in childcare.

Pretend a family member called you needing something and say you’re on your way, you just need to wait for this last parent and child to leave. Even better if you pretend it’s your own kid you’d like to get home to spend time with

NTA! People will say you are being rude or it’s just a couple minutes but as someone who’s worked with groups of around 25 kids (sometimes alone) and therefore their many parents, you are NTA! People need to be considerate of other’s time and you have a life outside of work. He’s holding up your time rudely.

That’s 5 minutes closer to home I could be after 12 hours of work. He can talk with his kid in the car and at home, it’s not my job to watch him sit on the floor and have a slow conversation with his kid

3 days a week every week ? They know I don’t have kids bc it’s a church and they won’t hire you if you “had kids out of wedlock”

He knows 😭 we literally get his kids coat and backpack on and meet him at the door and he still walks in. So we just stand and stare at him and walk out literally on his heels
