-weeks ago was now discarded in my bedroom broken. (The arm rest was completely broken off from her sitting in it and stretching it outward until the screw snapped.) I was more upset that she hadn't told me because I would return that one and bought her a new one. Before she hung up on me she was crying and said "not everyone can be small like you." She then texted me that no matter how she eats or what she does she gains weight. Now, I know my mother. She has never been on a consistent diet-
Not at all. With some people, there are certain conditions that can make it harder for them to lose weight just by dieting or lifting, but in extreme cases like this where someone could break a bariatric chair..? There’s no excuse. Parents discipline their children because they love them, so I think what you’re saying comes from a place of caring for her.
-or made any effort to lose weight. She literally struggles with bills and works from home so she can lay in bed all day. She has a degree and since the pandemic and switch from in office to remote she has job hopped to jobs that pay less simply because she doesn't want to get out of bed to work. It pisses me off because it feels like she doesn't care about her health whatsoever. She misses out on a lot because she'd rather blame the conditions she has because she's overweight rather than being-
Overweight. She even argues she's "big boned" which I had to tell her doesn't exist. I feel like an asshole for making her cry, but at some point it can't be "I've always been plus sized." She missed out on my college tours, moving into dorms, moving out, moving into my first apartment, moving out of that apartment, and moving into my first home because she gets winded or her legs get tired quickly. I've had to do all these things ALONE.
