As a man who did the stepping up yesterday, yes I absolutely agree with you men need to step the fuck up more often. My mother and I did all the work for everything, my stepfather just sat there on the couch all day and bitched about how we weren’t doing it right. Then ended the day with a comment about how he usually does everything (wrong) so he’s glad we stepped up this time. Men fucking suck dude

My sister and I (female) made everything this year and my dad tried to explain to me how to SCOOP SOMETHING OUT OF A CAN and continuously made comments about when the food would be ready, stood in the way, was the first one to make his plate, and didn’t clean a fucking thing. I was ready to chew through a fucking BELT over that man, I hope he develops an intolerance to the food he ate and shits himself

Asked my brother (im also a guy) to literally just put the dishes away after i dry them. Tell me why he responds with “i dont know where anything in this house goes”. This dude has spent more time in that house than me. I also made bread from scratch which was a solid 3-4 hour process, and i did that 2 different times, and all he did was go to the bar beforehand and watch the turkey cook. He didnt contribute shit. But has the audacity to try to get out of cleaning???? And then he asks me forhelp

Or like, it’s just a general statement because it’s a common thing that’s a societal norm leftover from previous generations. If you know it doesn’t apply to you, just keep on keeping on. Oh my god I’d go crazy. My dad had the audacity to ask if I was going to go wash dishes because my grandmother asked the “women” for help… I literally told him he could go fucking do them. My patience was so gone this year
