i’m assuming you met your friend when you were younger, as teens are very physical with one another in a platonic way. unfortunately, that kind of behaviour becomes less comfortable as you grow older. you will understand once you have a partner of your own, you won’t really feel the need to cuddle anyone besides them. so, for the people in the relationship it is very weird and definitely makes you seem like you are doing it for romantic/sexual reasons.

What’s wrong with cuddling and getting head pats? My critical thinking skills say that both op and friend know it’s not going to go further than platonic so they see no problem with it. If boyfriend sees this and doesn’t like it, then it can be over. It’s lowkey not a big deal.
