AITA for saying i’m type 1 diabetic (I’m type 2) when people ask? I don’t feel like being judged or having to explain that genetics and PCOS caused me to get it so young so I just lie

I mean I don’t think most people really know the difference between the 2 to be offended. Being a type 1 and type 2 can sometimes be nearly identical in presentation. If you have an insulin pump then no one but your doctor would really ever know. — ntah, not really. You’re just blurring the scientific mechanism but you have a more culturely type 1 type of diabetes “perception-wise” If anything you’re just a bad scientist, not an asshole

They don’t gotta know but tbh nothing is going to change be perpetuating the stigma/ hiding from it. I know a good chunk of the time, people DONT ask but you feel the need to say type 1 so they don’t judge you. The thing about judgement is that it only impacts you if you let it. (Type 2 PCOS that even when tired, educates people briefly because if we don’t, nothings going to change)

Satan is the father of lies. If it’s none of their business then tell them so. No need to lie.
