AITA if I break up with my bf for giving me index cards with coupons for “playing magic with him” (I hate that game) while I spent close to $600 on his gift?

NTA, the price shouldn’t matter, the thought should, but it sounds like neither were there

NTA you are valid to feel under appreciated and valued. I went 4 years like this and it does not get better (unless this is a fresh relationship, why spend so much)

I mean it's up to you how much you spent on his gift- you could've spent $10. If he knows you hate the game then HTA. If he has no idea you hate the game then you may be TA for expecting a similar price. If he has no idea I think it's kind of sweet that he wants to spend time with you doing something he likes and that he thinks you like.

either way he could’ve done something more thoughtful that SHE would actually like, the cards could’ve been “i cook dinner for you” or “i give you a massage”, it’s the thought not the price that matters
