As someone with a roommate who does similar stuff about not texting stuff and has similar issues as you’re having, I agree with prettywoman’s comment. Give them a warning and let them figure it out. If they’re locked out because of their lack of responsibility, it’s not your problem, it’s theirs

i reckon you jam the door and let the responsibility fall on her. give her a warning, one time, that's what you're going to do and follow through.

Lately my roommate has been spending more time visiting her parents and bf in her hometown since it's only a 40 minute drive and her new semester schedule allows it. Except she won't tell me if she's spending the night there or not. Almost every night I have to text her if she'll be back, and sometimes she doesn't respond until the next morning so the door goes unjammed for the night cause I'm not gonna jam it unless I know 100% she's not coming back overnight.
