her mom is a total health nut, never let her enjoy food even on her special day. For her birthday this year we went to Six Flags and there's a mall nearby with Auntie Anne's. Both of us aren't huge on receiving gifts so I hadn't gotten her anything. For her, company is what she wanted. But to make her day even better, I bought her pretzels. I was telling my mom about it when we got home and she started criticizing me for not caring about her even though she has as much context + more than y'all!

I feel like going to Six Flags and paying for her to indulge in something her almond mom never lets her do is super sweet… I can’t imagine how you could possibly be the asshole

Imo I'm not an asshole. Part of me wants to vent, another part of me wants to know if it truly is rude to get someone a gift as simple as paying for their order.
