My friend claims to have PTSD. I’m not one to wave off trauma, but as someone who has nightmares, flashbacks, and can’t function in relationships normal anymore it pisses me off. She doesn’t have PTSD btw

She says it about minor inconveniences too. Not actual traumas. She told me how traumatic some storm was bc it “rained a lot” , meanwhile I had just evacuated from Helene and saw dead bodies…

Never be afraid to confront a peer you got this.

I think the most emotionally intelligent way to handle this is to nudge her to talk about her trauma w professionals. Tell her it’s uncomfortable for you (because it is) to casually talk about trauma because you have your own trauma you struggle with

I’ve known her since kindergarten. She can drop smth and say it’s traumatic. My thing is the overuse of it. She could have trauma but she says EVERYTHING is traumatic

Yeah. I just hate that she calls EVERYTHING traumatic and when people point it out she’s all “I’m just kidding”. She’s also triggered mine by touching my face with no warning (ex would grab my face) and just “oh I forgot lol”
