i’m palestinian what i’m tryna say is that there are people who are progressive-except-palestine. i know it’s a violent settler colonial occupation. but there are many different demographics of zionists. they love to tell us how diverse they are. it’s very liberating for a moroccan sefardi woman to be the person carpet bombing you instead of an ashkenazi man right?!
*uses 3 clearly not controversial policies out of all the left policies to prove their point* You’re proving my point exactly. You need to have civil conversations with the opposite party. You’re trying to claim an entire political group is good based on 3 cherry picked subjects but you’re not talking about the controversial stuff. That only fuels the fire.
Abortion, gun laws, border laws, tax laws, all very controversial for both sides. If you refuse to listen to each other’s arguments and just point fingers at each other for being bad, it accomplishing nothing but more hate & prejudice. Take gun laws for example. In a perfect world, removing all guns would indeed reduce crime, or at least make it more difficult to commit some of them. The left is correct in that regard. BUT should the government attack, criminals get their hands on guns, 1/2
2/2 or another dangerous scenario arise, you have no sufficient way to defend yourself. The right is correct from that aspect. If you just point fingers and call each other assholes, nothing gets accomplished. Laws that the left implement get overturned by the right within a couple years and vice versa. Talk. Learn. Compromise. Be better.
Abortion is healthcare, not being used as birth control. Very few people are saying nobody should have guns, they just need better screening and safeguarding. Tax the rich, protect the poor— doesn’t harm anyone. Clearly you don’t understand the border either. Maybe if you did actually listen to people, you’d understand why none of those are “destructive”. I’m done entertaining fascists and paedo apologists. 🥱
