I think the statistics can be a bit rude because you’re assuming he’s gonna argue with you instead of assuming he’d understand. That undertone makes him more likely to get defensive. But that’s my only critique

Well giving numbers almost suggests that you think he’s gonna say “yeah so what a couple students miss?” If you don’t provide that data. If you just say a significant portion of students come right at 10:30 then you suggest you think he’ll find that valuable even without exact numbers

Oh that def makes a difference! If it was like a more seasoned (old af) teacher they tend to be stuck in their ways and are offended by students breathing the wrong way according to their syllabus. But if they're new I'm sure they actually appreciated it!
