being nice to ppl you think are pretty and/or attractive is not equivalent to being a kind person.

I think I just found out how to communicate nice vs kind. In the northeast we are nice but not kind. We will genuinely white glove help you. Our rhetoric will demean you. The south will politely give you the wrong directions. My aunt is kind allowing my grandmother to solve incontinence with maxi pads. I am nice to tell my aunt theres no dignity in pissing yourself she needs diapers

no yeah i’m northeast too and i’m very blunt but i don’t have any ill-will (i noticed this esp with a lot of new jersey ppl) but bay area or ppl of the south are often/most of the time are the fakest bitches i have mer :/ . obviously i just met the wrong individuals and not trying to stereotype but the states’ cultural difference is interesting.

I think most people would swap the labels you have for nice and kind. At least, I was always taught that nice was like manners and being polite but you could still be nasty while kind was genuinely wanting to help people and not wanting to hurt anyone but not necessarily covering it in six layers of sugar

From Massachusetts, and I have had people help me change a tire on the side of the road while also talking about how it’s too cold to do that shit, I moved to Florida and my car battery died earlier this year and I was stuck in a parking lot. Only one person came by and all they said was that stupid bless your heart shit.
