is it bad to be a little upset that my boyfriend plays video games for 4-6+ hours every night rarely texting me? sometimes it’s fine because i’m mostly doing my own thing, today i was really upset over a big fight with my mom that left me sobbing. aita

more to add, when he was upset i immediately answered though i was out shopping. I offered to help in any way i could, I offered him to come over even though i wanted some solo time. i usually am not upset by the video games bc its a hobby. but I am upset that he openly knows i’m upset, and crying over a big deal to me and is choosing to not answer for hours due to “playing video games with his friends” he doesn’t understand that it is a problem and always says it’s his “me time” after work

NTA, He should be there for you when you are upset.

Girl please leave him, you have a mature mindset in a relationship with a guy who is still mentally a child. If he can’t see how much of a waste of life video games are, he’s a lost cause

This!!! Women so often extend themselves to be there for people when they’re upset but then boys always seem to “prioritize themselves” and “protect their peace” it’s bs being in a relationship should mean mutual care and extension for the other

Video games are great, like dude can work on himself but if my girl told be I couldn’t game anymore I’m dropping her ass. It’s somthing I enjoy, it’d be like telling her that all her trash ass tv shows are a waste

Frankly those tv shows are the same, it all depends on how much time you’re wasting on them. They’re both just watching someone else’s life that instead you could be living, whether it’s a celebrity or a video game character
