AITA for not feeding my dog beef or pork products? I’m very allergic/will have a reaction to him and he still gets fish, chicken, turkey, duck products (spoiled AF) but someone said I was as bad as vegans pushing my lifestyle on my dog.

If there’s a serious health risk to you I don’t see how you could be in the wrong for protecting yourself

Most kibble uses primarily chicken product (and veggies), there’s more than enough nutrients in what you’re feeding you’re dog. Definitely not like forcing a dog to be vegan wherein they are not receiving proper nutrition

I swear some people post for attention. Why would you be the asshole if it’s for your HEALTH. my dog is plain allergic to meat so he doesn’t get any.

It’s a labor of love sometimes, those fish skins can be STINKY but it’s so good for his coat. Obviously kibble is best for dogs to ensure they get a complete diet tho but who says you can’t have fun with supplements and enrichment

They were arguing the health risk to me is low if it was dry treats/kibble and my dog must get bored of the same flavors but I was warned it could come through his saliva/dander. But he was already on this diet (mostly) when I developed this allergy so I’ll never really know unless I try it
