AITA for wanting to keep my sweatshirt? Like 6 years ago my dad gained weight and gave me an old sweatshirt of his. Now that he’s losing weight he wants it back. It’s one of my favorite sweatshirts. My boyfriend likes to borrow it too. AITA for keeping it

nta, it was a gift so there shouldn’t be invisible strings attached. it’s yours now!

He was the one who gave it to me, I was under the assumption it was mine. I don’t think that’s an incorrect assumption, especially considering it’s been half a decade.

That’s what I think, but he is throwing a hissy fit about it. (He’s a narcissist so that doesn’t help)

no you’re completely correct as of current it is yours since he relinquished his ownership but my point is hes still ur father yk and its just a sweatshirt- i feel the relationship with your dad is more important than a sweatshirt you like
