Do whatever you want, but I just want to point out how much you’re letting other peoples opinions matter in this decision (obvs ex bf’s, which you recognize is silly, but also your moms and from the comment also potential future women partners?) when in reality someone is always going to prefer your hair to be different, so you should do whatever makes you feel best and most confident regardless of what ANYBODY else thinks

But there is nothing wrong with someone having opinion that they like long hair on your better. It is their opinion. But it is your hair so feel free to cut but don’t be a hater to someone who likes it better a different way

Update: I will be cutting my hair, but I’m growing it out a bit more and I decided I want to try this (in the picture) haircut, since it was one I wanted for a while and he hated it (I also realized I was gay, so now I’m trying to appeal myself for a woman’s gaze once I go back to the dating scene when I go back to college for my next semester)

Oh no, I’m not being a hater because he likes it a certain way (because I have my preferences too), but what I am salty about is being with someone who got with me knowing that he preferred long hair (I didn’t know this when we got together) and then being an asshole to me when I did want to cut my hair to the point that I just left my hair alone to avoid the argument (dumb thing on my part, I let too much slide 💔). So no, I’m hating on the person specifically, not their preference lol
