just in case anybody is wondering (from someone who did have cancer) -- you don't need to be worried that you have cancer unless you have randomly lost ~10-20lbs with no intention of doing so. thats when its good to get blood work done and worry!

Why was it a keloid and not another type of tumor?

It was a dark, slightly squishy bump on the surface of my skin that was mostly flat but circular. It was dark and rough around the edges and tight and smooth in the middle. It wasn’t a tumor, just a quickly-changing blemish on my forearm
