Up is a positional concept that describes direction and orientation relative to gravity, space, and perception. E.g. in physical space: the raccoon climbs UP the tree. E.g. in relative position: the raccoon is up the tree while I am down on the ground. E.g. metaphorically: the raccoon felt like it was going up in the world because it had stolen my wallet. E.g. conceptually: I fucked up and let a raccoon near my wallet.
