Why do people shame me for wanting kids? If you don’t want any, fine fair enough. I won’t shame you for your choice not to. But I feel like those who actually want kids nowadays get shamed for wanting this

I've never seen anyone get shamed for wanting kids but I've definitely seen people get shamed for being weird about it

Everyone I’ve ever met has kids for all the wrong reasons AND lacks the skills/knowledge to do it successfully.

People see settling down as boring, especially the more neurologically/mentally immature they are. They think you are wasting your life or cutting your youth short by having kids. Also, some people think bringing kids into a world in this state is unethical. There’s a lot of doomsday/apocalyptic culture in our generation, because we were taught the world was ending due to global warming and covid and all that. Granted some of it is warranted but I still have hope for the future, however small 😭

They say I am selfish, that I should focus on my career (which I do, I work in finance), that it’s bad to have kids nowadays because of how bad the state of the world is, etc.
