Yeah, I agree. I’m tired of people 35+ trying to flirt with me (20) it’s actually borderline disturbing because no matter how many times I say I’m not interested or that my boyfriend is still in the picture it’s somehow my fault for posting as a woman, or being on this app like “does your boyfriend know you’re here” when I’m not even posting sexual content, I’m complementing art, I’m being kind to people with questions, etc. I’m just here to pass time not to have creeps come after me

Because rape/rape culture is normalized especially in college settings. Girls/non men are seen as goals/things to achieve rather than people to befriend/be romantic with and eventually be consenting with. It’s sad but true. the problem is when older people come into a space intended for college students with the intention of hitting on or harassing them. huge age gaps are typically frowned upon because there’s often a power imbalance that seems predatory from the outside. like if a 40 yr old is dating a 20 yr old who has much less experience it may be an opportunity for the older man to take advantage of the girl. also the fact that the man would have been an adult when the college student was born is weird.
