People are sending death threats over a very base level post about men’s mental health month. Why? I want to know the actual reason why people are getting so upset about it. Enough to tell someone to kill themself.

ALSO! Happy Pride and Men’s Mental Health month. Both are very important and deserve their recognition. Please take care of yourself regarding both.

when ppl are discriminated against all the time they become extremely defensive and agressive towards things that are perceived as an attack. with this being said, june is pride month and and so ppl who see MMH get posted over pride can be triggering since MMH usually gets posted in a way to avoid pride month (if that makes sense?)

I think the real enemy we need to join forces against is this bull shit “nuclear family month” movement in red states like Indiana. That hurts all of us

with that being said, death threats are crazy and i think that ppl can go way too far with stuff I think this is a broader conversation of homophobia and masculinity and it's a really cool subject and I studied it a lot but i won't yap bc it's long winded

That was one of the conclusions I came to. I enjoy having healthy conversations about these things and nobody was actually giving a reason under that post. Hate for the sake of hate is a horrible thing to push into the world.

Yeah, this is spot on. It’s exactly what’s happening with the nuclear family month movement. Unlike men’s mental health month, the nuclear family month is directly and intentionally meant to overshadow and take a jab at pride month, although republican governors will deny that. Some people weaponize MMHM in that way but the month itself is not an attack.

100% seeing the nuclear family month is absolutely wild to me. it's so obvious it's meant to be anti pride and, like you said, ppl also weaponize MMHM which is really unfortunate to see bc i think MMHM is actually super super important, esp in a society that loves to shame men who talk about MH
