When I worked at a hospital all employees were required to work one holiday. A couple months in advance they would put up a sheet in the break room where we could put in our top pick that we wanted off and then numbered our 2nd, 3rd, 4th choices. They would try their best to not make people work on the top holiday they wanted off, but they can’t please everyone, so sometimes we would still have to work that holiday.
