If you have a diagnosable mental disorder and trauma stop asking other college students and go to a licensed therapist

You need to rewire the habit. Not just ignore it, but replace it with a different one, like working out. Every time you feel in the mood, go for a run or do some pushups instead.

I would but adhd makes it feel impossible to read, adhd is also one of the causes for my hypersexuality

Part of it is a trauma response which btw is REALLY difficult to just say no to

understandable but still just another excuse and you’ll never improve with those preconceived notions engrained. at some point you either turn the poison into medicine and grow or you keep it close and let it consume you. you aren’t back there anymore, keep growing for the part of you still trapped there.

A big part of it can be perseveration or rumination. Its not something that can just be chalked up to an “excuse”. Your advice can be useful to some but with someone who’s neurodivergent it can also be harmful. Lets not try and make someone feel like shit for some things they cannot control.

i am neurodivergent though and have cptsd. mental barriers can be navigated at the end of the day no matter how vast. not trying to make them feel like shit just being real, being gentle with yourself is important, but so is being able to endure and having self control.
