monogamy - you both like vanilla ice cream, and only want to share the same vanilla ice cream open/poly - you both like the shared vanilla ice cream, AND both don’t mind separate sides of chocolate & strawberry. Doesn’t ruin the vanilla. It’s only toxic if one of the pple is lying to themselves or their partner.
