Try to introduce more creativity into it where you can. Daydream. Don’t focus on the fact you can’t have what you want but try to embrace what you have and the possibility that good things can randomly happen. Try to look within yourself and find out where your negative feelings are coming from and think about how you can improve or combat them. Learning about the human psyche might help you understand yourself better. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to overachieve you’ll get burnt out.
Fake it until you make it. Might as well pretend life is sunshine and rainbows until you actually start to appreciate all the simple things that make you happy. Combining this with actually building your life by working out and getting your career going etc is what can really make things good and make you feel like you are progressing
In the words of George Carlin: you have to have something to look forward to (for yourself to do, not just like a tv show or something) There’s a good interview from George Carlin somewhere on some talk show where he gives a few general pointers about this, I recommend you find it, it’s really helpful on this topic
Hang out and friends and family when you can, being social is great for mental health, but you cannot rely on it alone. spending time learning new things, and turning myself into a person who I enjoy the company of, who has interesting things to talk about etc. is how i learned to love myself again
it might be because of my adhd and ocd, but routine helps me alot. Everyday, I have a specific time set adide for me to take care of myself and do something I enjoy whether thats an hour of crafting before school or cooking myself something tasty before bed, making sure to take care of yourself and treat yourself with compassion works wonders
