This is unhealthy... dwelling on the bad things is not what you do with someone who can't help you like a therapist. Asking why people love about themselves would promote healthier mindsets and can lead people to move further from the things they don't like. By defining what we hate we cement it as a real part of us and that can be hard to escape

I try. I go through periods of being super productive and then weeks of not getting out of bed. Over and over and I hate myself for it

Honestly idk. Big ones in the sence I try to be funny and I end up hurting people and I say but things that are rude that pushed people away and I’m flirty and I don’t mean to be but no one likes me because if that and I lead people on and hurt people and people have cheated on their partners with me and I know that’s horrible and I used to say I was young but in the moment I’m just like oh well but I’m terrible why would I do that

Sounds like you’re trying to be a good person, you just need to slow down a bit. Before you make jokes be sure to consider how the other person will take it. Same goes for flirting, make sure you look further down the line and consider whether the other person will end up hurt. I know it’s much easier said than done. But making people like you requires trust built over time, not quick jokes or quick flirty interactions. Show up consistently and always consider other people’s feelings 👍

It sounds like you could have depression or a form of mania(bi polar or manic depressive), a psychiatrist could help to diagnose and find meds that work for you to balance it out

I’m currently diagnosed w major depressive disorder and medicated for that, but my psych wants to put me on stimulants so gotta see if I meet ADHD criteria. But I really hate using mental health as an excuse to underperform and I get so frustrated with myself

It's not an excuse, it's an explanation. Brain chemistry dictates almost everything about how we act and think, so when you have mental health issues it will cause you to act differently. It's not your fault, it's quite literally just your brain being goofy. If you can't perform normally, meds can help. Don't think of it as an excuse

Thank you for saying that, I’m trying to be less hard on myself it just sucks seeing everyone else able to meet expectations while I can’t get myself to do the work
