I’ve always been a good student in terms of grades. Hardly ever get C’s, only once got a D. Now I’m in college and I currently have a professor with a thick Indian accent that’s currently failing me. It’s too late to switch out. How do I get around this?

I’m sorry but if you’ve ever gotten Cs or Ds you are not a good student. And tens of thousands of students learn from people with Indian accents every year. You just buckle down and deal with it. I do understand it’s harder to learn from someone with a thick accent, but you aren’t being failed because of his accent. If that were the case everyone would be failing and he’d get canned. Just take the class.

The more you’re exposed to the accent, the more you’ll understand it. I had a lab assistant last semester with a really thick accent, a month in I could understand him perfectly. If they teach lecture, there’s a good chance the info is online something and video lectures from other professors are on YouTube.

I’ve never heard a good student who’s gotten a D even once.

She’s doing something incorrectly if he’s failing her

The D I got was from a computer typing class. I suffer from dyspraxia. Typing on a computer keyboard like normal people do is physically impossible for me. I guess that makes me a bad student for getting a D once in middle school.

Ah, so I’m a bad student if I’ve ever gotten a C? Understood. Thanks for the ‘just deal with it’ advice. That’s exactly what I wanted to hear.

Maybe try not to guilt trip people. There’s your advice.

How am I guilt tripping you? No one is forcing you to respond lol.

It’s true? I didn’t say it means you’re stupid. But getting a D and occasional C’s is like the definition of being an average student

Girl if you only ever got As that means you never tried/were challenged. You live an extremely sad life if you think someone being challenged and trying harder is a sign of weakness, and i shudder to think what youll think when you start struggling at something.

And you dont think calling someones entire academic career bad because they got one C or D isnt? Girl.

You’re still reaching! Idk why you are so up in arms. All I said is that Cs and Ds are average grades and do not make a good student. I didn’t suggest anything about it being a sign of weakness or bad. Lots of people are very smart and make average grades and are very successful. It is not a big deal.

Girl your whole argument is proof enough that you were never properly challenged lmao… good god i cant wait for life to actually make you try for once. Have fun being a failure !

If youve ever made mistakes youre a bad person. If youve ever gotten a C youre a bad student. If youve ever done anything remotely imperfect youre a lost cause. Ah yes a very healthy, normal mindset.

I feel that you are projecting something bc I didn’t say any of these things ur claiming, and not that I need to prove it but I’m doing fine lol that doesn’t really make any sense. Ur placing a lot more weight on my comment than what was intended or reasonable... I hope you’re all good

Again I literally didn’t say any of those things, nothing in my comment said they’re a bad person or a bad student or lost cause? I don’t know what ur issue is but it’s not with me

I don’t know why they’re acting as if you’re just creating lies against them when they literally said ‘if you’ve ever gotten Cs or D’s you’re not a good student’. Which is the equivalent of saying ‘if you’ve ever gotten anything other than a B or A, you’re a bad student’. But I appreciate you pointing out the redundancy in their replies.

That is not equivalent to me and not what I meant. Not everything is good or bad
