Mainly the interning of Japanese citizens during WW2. He also stacked the court. Conservatives hate him bc they think the New Deal policies were basically communism.

My Republican family members think that the New Deal stuff prolonged the Great Depression. Idk much about it myself though

Recognized a country that pretty much declared war on the U.S and the entire West in its founding, opened our doors and allowed them to spy on us, revolutionized their industrial technology, let them bully us into making favorable deals, almost sent them aid while they were committing a genocide, among some other things. Of course I am talking about the Soviet Union in the 30s. FDR is indirectly responsible for the cold war, people really do not hate him enough

FDR didn't pack the court, but he did threaten to do so.

Both nations were heavily aggressive genocidal dictatorships. Would love to hear your reasoning for why you think one is “morally right” because they defeated the other one.

Germany was bent on global domination and ethnic cleansing. That is without question worse than what the Soviets were up to.

The soviets expressed a genuine interest in and funded for the collapse of western governments. NS Germany did not do this, they did not want to “conquer the world”and they did not want to have anything to do with anything other than Eastern Europe. They didn’t even express an interest in re-claiming the colonies they lost after WW1, or even Alsace Lorraine, a province which they had a fair claim on, was not sought after.

Regarding ethnic cleansing (genocide is a better word to use, as every major nation was ethnically cleansing at the time), no one knew about the genocide until after the war, including 99% of Germans. Either way, the soviets also had cruel slave labor camps where many people died. They also committed a genocide against Kazakhs that resulted in them being a minority in their own country until the USSR collapsed.

All I’ve heard from you is borderline stalinist sympathizer propaganda. You jumped right in to defend this dictatorship under my first comment, but I never assumed you were an actual hateful stalinist, because most people are not. I’m sorry you feel this way, I’m sure we actually agree on many things.
