For those wanting context: Graham Platner recently won an important Democratic primary in Maine and will run for US Senate in November. Platner had and has since covered over a tattoo which resembled the Totenkopf, a Nazi symbol. Platner has denied any knowledge about the symbol’s meaning, but the incident remains controversial.
