Honestly, everyone is fending for themselves. Everyone is trying to set up the rest of their life in a very small space of time. Not to mention, you’ve ppl who are very different from their backgrounds to their maturity. It’s hard to blend them together seemingly

College isn't lonely. You're just lonely

Everyone’s wearing a mask. Which isn’t a sign you should wear one too, just, people are trying to develop their first identity in a place their parents aren’t watching them, so it takes a minute for them to “come out of their shell.”

It can be till you just break those invisible barriers 😁 Can’t tell you how many times I just didn’t GAF and I ended becoming good friends with good people. It’s just an invisible game people unnecessarily comply to. You just gotta break it!

This is very true! Most ppl up to college are just clones of their parents influence. For the first time, ppl are having the opportunity to truly be themselves and make their own choices

It’s not necessarily a bad thing, hopefully they can trust their parents didn’t misguide them terribly. I see that a bunch too, freshmen-sophomores attempt to reinvent themselves to be the opposite of their parents only to learn some of what their parents taught them was valuable. But you get to learn/try new stuff. Design your own environment/experience. Make new friends. Bring HS friends into town to visit. There’s plenty to do if you’re willing to travel around a bit.
