He’s exceeding my expectations. I expected him to become bogged down and settle into establishment politics. He’s made some small errors but he’s genuinely shaking things up nationally and doing great things for NYC. Most of his haters just listen to Fox News and/or hate him because he’s Muslim.

He endorsed three progressive house candidates in democratic primary races defeating long standing incumbents, which not only goes against the norm, but also basically guarantees those candidates will win their general elections since it is in NY. This has been making national news and sparked conversations of a democratic socialist takeover within the Democratic Party. Also he has secured 1.2 billion for universal childcare, and he also just got a rent freeze passed, among other things

The statement that socialism does more harm than good is just untrue. Also it’s been 250 years since this country was founded, things have changed, sure a small government gets rid of a lot of the things people dislike like paid elections, military industrial complex, and police surveillance but it gets rid of things we need to have a functioning society. Also progressives want smaller government when it comes to people’s personal lives.
