Is 25 and 19 too big of age gap?

Yeah. Here’s why: At 19 one is barely out of high school. Cannot drink (legally). Cannot go into many clubs or bars. The 25 year old, on the other hand, has been drinking and clubbing for 4 years. Likely out of college and in grad school or working. Two VERY DIFFERENT stages of life. Too incompatible in my opinion

Yeah I did this, it was fun but if you want it to be serious you can’t ignore that you are both in very different stages of life and your goals probably don’t align which can make things feel pointless down the road

Yes because why tf would you want to date a 19 year old as a 25 year old? Grow tf up.

19 year olds who have been in college three years aren't uncommon. Neither are 25 year olds who have lived with their parents their whole life

That sounds like a parent child relationship at that point

If you're actively "coaching/teaching" your partner about early adulthood that sounds like parental advice at that point

Why does being able to drink and go to clubs matter? Not even everyone wants to do those so I really don't get why that's a factor. And like "one of them might be in school and one might not" doesn't... like I just don't see why master. Like legitimately. I'm not trying to say that these are our aren't good points, like I don't understand why they're points at all.

Well it becomes about how much each person has lived and experience. Up to the point when one lives away from home, one is just an extension of parental values and expectations. After college one is one’s truest self. Which is made from being away from home.

Also, if one is working while the other is in school their demands are hugely different. Imagine this: hey babe, want to grab dinner Friday night; Ohh sorry boo I can’t. I have to finish a group project and study for a midterm

A 19 and 25, six year difference is different from a 25 and 31, six year difference. It’s not the six year difference it’s the proximity to adulthood and a 19 year old is barely an adult which makes it weird.

25 yr old has had more experiences to learn from than 19. There’s a lot you learn from going out and socializing in those situations. It also gives the older person more opportunities to take advantage of the younger persons naivety by doing those things & lying ab what it’s like/what happens

There's a lot your learn from.... drinking and clubbing? And the older person *could* take advantage of the younger person.... by lying to them about.... dining and clubbing? It seems like you're really putting a lot of weight on these things and I just can't bring myself to see drinking and clubbing as that important

I don’t think you realize how people operate in our current dating culture…it’s pretty obvious why those things hold decent weight
