The fridge in my apartment that my landlord claims to have gotten “brand new” before I moved in, completely stopped working and I had to throw around $300 dollars of food+condiments away. What is the first thing I should do after someone came to repair it

Possibly ask landlord to allow you to take $300 off your next months rent with receipt showing where you paid for food recently.
