
to my knowledge and what i have been exposed to in my lifetime this is in fact common in aave as well as less developed areas of the country (let’s say this is currently in the usa). these two do NOT always interfere with one another but cultural backgrounds influence a person speech as much as education.
this attitude of feeling like no one should ever correct you is literally causing people to be dumber. why is the first reaction to being corrected “you’re policing people”? is it wrong for me to want my constituents to be well educated? is it wrong to fill in peoples’ gaps in knowledge? as for the tone of the post, it’s people who LOUDLY don’t care about being wrong who are an issue, because they refuse to learn or grow and then they spread their own mistakes to learning children online
