I think it discourages enthusiastic consenting sex when we pay for it and we should be addressing why people NEED to do this job and assess the root cause. It also promotes the idea women are objects to be sold in a fashion. I prefer my sex consensual and intimate but I do agree it should be decriminalized but we should charge the people who pay for it, you’re taking advantage of someone in this scenario more often than not.
So a big issue in this if we made a system for it or not is human trafficking. Roughly 14,500-17,500 are trafficked into the US annually. (The Exodus Report). According to Tim Tebow’s “Renewed Hope Act” there are 89,000 unidentified children trapped in this abuse cycle with approximately 1/3 physically in the US borders.
i don't know if i fully disagree with you but i do have another perspective. Maybe if there is sex available for purchase, and it's regulated kind of like i think austria? Then, if someone who just wanted a hookup could just go there instead of dating apps or stuff like that where they may hurt someone else by using them, then i think that could be a positive. I think it could even like encourage enthusiastic consensual sex because it's like them choosing is much more meaningful that way? Idk
I don’t believe that sex can be happily consensual and paid for like in this fashion but I like where you’re coming from and I totally get your perspective. I agree I think we should be making laws to protect these women who have to make their money this way they should be protected and feel safer from abuse when they need help against clients. However, I don’t see the problem with using dating apps for hookups if you’re straight forward ab itand it seems healthier and sexually safer than this.
To be fair I don’t think most people want to fuck prostitutes outside of lonely people, criminals and exploitative people so I many of who they get money from would probably disappear and we have to ask would they be willing to use legal protections? It’s a very messy subject but you make great points!
You cannot be for real. 🤣😂 Have you never heard of Epstein Island? Heidi Fleiss? Ashley Madison? There are plenty of very wealthy and prominent men willing to pay for sex and companionship. At least if it’s legalized and regulated, the woman providing their services will have more control.
They should definitely have more legal and regulated services but i don’t know how heavily they would be utilized due to the nature of the business and relationships with the police. Yes people will pay for sex but it’s usually not glamorous like you articulated when talking about the rich men, it’s not usually the extremely wealthy it’s more often the forever down on their luck, disgusting, creepy, hopeless ones who are gonna pay for it.
And this way we could track human traffickers more effectively! if we had a system that had prostitutes ‘salary’ and common locations we could create a safety system not in a creepy way but if they hadn’t made a cash statement in awhile an officer could go check their common locations to make sure everything is okay and if not hopefully catch trafficking quicker or create a pattern for the future
I’ve thought about it too, we have designated spots. Onsite testing, you need to prove you’re clean to work or use the facilities. The facility is heavily inspected by government. Tax the hell out of it. BUT it’s not like government is corrupt across the board. All it would take is 1 facility I believe to send out shockwave to corrupt everything.
