is it normal to feel immense dread before giving your partner bad news? not bc he’d ever get vioIent, just bc he reacts so poorly? i tell him abt an accidental mess, inconvenience, etc & he swears & groans & huffs. he gets genuinely mad over spilled milk

no it’s not that means smth is not right in ur relationship and it is hard but it shouldn’t cause you an impending sense of doom and the fact that he doesn’t take it right means that you don’t feel safe it’s not worth the stress babe you deserve better sorry u had to deal w that

i brought this up to him, but he claims that he’s not doing it to make me feel bad, he’s just easily frustrated, and he feels like i’m asking him to bottle up his emotions. i just want him to stop throwing a mini fit over miniscule things? am i being ridiculous? he does the same thing often when he or anyone else makes a mistake too, so it’s not just me, but it’s embarrassing!

It is not normal. That is a problem that he needs to fix, if it doesn’t it’ll slowly wear down your feelings for him and replace them with resentment, thus breaking the relationship apart. The blaming you for “bottling his feelings” is a red flag. He can express his emotions in other ways. Like silently, in his head. Or one sigh/curse word..
