i can absolutely see your point of view! i’m still new in growing my faith, so i had to turn to a little bit of help from my bible! i also have some verses provided incase your interested in looking at them! God’s commandment “thou shall not kill” is about the sanctity of life. when He commanded the israelites to destroy certain nations, it was about divine judgement on their persistent wickedness. the flood was God’s response to overwhelming corruption (Genesis 6:5-7). stoning in the old (1)
testament was meant to maintain community purity, but Jesus shifted that focus to grace and mercy (John 8:1-11). as for natural disasters, they reflect the fallen state of the world due to sin (Romans 8:22) like i said, i’m still working on learning God and learning His word, but i’m always happy to have a conversation!
I don’t understand why god would want one group to wipe out another for being wicked when the whole thing of god is that he grants forgiveness to those who seek it in him. If they are killed before they’re given the chance to even seek forgiveness, how is that fair? And if god can’t be fair, how can his promise of forgiveness be trusted?
