Why do people make plans with you if they don’t plan on texting you again?

It’s kind of a polite, friendly thing to do. Like the phrase “we should get coffee sometime.” It’s a way of saying they enjoy your company, whether or not they mean it or they’re saying it to be polite is up to the situation. I don’t like it either it’s so confusing 😭 Unless the plans are totally concrete and had a date set and everything, in which case they’re just plain rude.

I agree, but there’s a difference between “let’s get coffee sometime” and “let’s go on this specific hike next Sunday”
