For me, no. But it depends on the individual. I took a large dose of otc painkillers beforehand which probably helped at least a bit. The actual insertion was so fast it didn’t hurt much but the speculum was very uncomfortable.

No it’s not. But from my experience listen to your body if you have extreme pain a month or two in get it out and get a different one. It’s not painful to get but for me personally I got one that didn’t work for my body and felt like it was stabbing me and wish I got it out.

Mine was really painful after getting it for like 5 days, really bad cramps, like I could barely eat. Then ofc because they inserted it and Irritated the uterus it started bleeding…I got it August 2025 and have bled ever since day since then, they don’t know how to fix it! 🤩
