You’re absolutely wrong. People join to serve their country. They don’t control who is giving them orders but they do it in pursuit of what’s thought to be best for the country. To say it’s their own fault for wanting to serve their country makes you a shitty person.

I’m the gf from the original post, this is my bf’s last contract year in the military and he only joined to help pay for his degree. He just has to get through this year and I only came on here because I’m terrified for his safety and have no idea where to put it because he can’t just break his contract despite us both wanting him out of there. But thank you so much for showing how inconsiderate so many people are to our service members & how fast assumptions are made without the full story

If you join the service then you want your country to survive and prosper. You don’t have to agree with everything a president or leader does because you’re not there to directly support them. Do u think republicans didn’t join when Biden was president? And vice versa?
