is it bad that i think that when religious ppl talk to me they just sound extremely brainwashed 😭 idk maybe im more atheist than i thought. i really don’t mean any disrespect, it’s just hard to understand

Atheism has more to do with your views of god or celestial beings than religious people. That said, you can think whatever you want as long as you’re not being malicious for the sake of it. If they’re trying to lecture you or force you to conform to their beliefs it’s fair game tho.

i used to until i thought about religion is basically a plague that destroys societies if it's allowed to percolate too long. like at first it drives development if people are living in the state of nature but then once they get past that stage, if they hold onto religion, their society declines.

i don’t think he was trying to force it on to me, he just started quoting bible verses on me and then he went on a spiel about how “god is the only thing that will truly love you” and i just . didn’t know how to respond

Even if he means well you can still be honest about where you’re coming from and how you feel. “Hey I know you mean well but I don’t believe in this at all and I’m not interested in talking about it with you.”
