Why do people especially guys refer to sex as cracking, banging, tapping, hitting? Why are we so violent with sex? What happened to making love? And why don’t we use more positive words?

Let’s come up with some alternatives. Like how about….. Splooshing, badoinking, nestling, zakowiewowing, or squishing

Because if we call it something beautiful it's harder to treat as a competition

Mostly used in joking contexts from what I’ve seen. My buddies and I will use cracking if we joke and use it to refer to idk fictional characters, monsters, or each other. Just anything as a joke we say cracking. At the same time, if we speak about our partners or people we are interested in, we say phrases like make love, be intimate, or just have sex. It’s the irony and context that defines it

Bc everybody says that saying words like that are good. Making love isn’t the norm bc we reward saying stupid shit like that. We reward people who are promiscuous

I’d rather just Marvin Gaye and get it on. But I like to know my guy will go at whatever pace I say. And he would never disrespect me by speaking about it in public or to his friends. So what’s with the derogatory words anyway? Only immature boys would refer to sex in that way.

Hi OP, the reason is because people learned to make sex into a drug. Hookups for example can be a drug but being rough is about the abstract rough act when a hookup was sex in general. The outcome is people looking to get their abstract act done on them or them to do on others. What that means is they only want people as part of their fantasy but isn’t that person isn’t the main thing. Where does this end?

Lmfao I see your point. I honestly never thought of it that way. Bang and smash are probably what I use often but that’s usually just with the boys. When I’m with my gf I say sex

That’s really good that you and your friends dont use the rather violent language when referring to the people in your life 🫶 But the reality is a good number of people, especially men do use crack and other similar words when talking about a hookup/gf/wife. As you can see in the other comments other men admit they dont use more nurturing words because its seen as corny or weird

Idk why it’s specifically violence. Those words are arguably violence in the first place. You could argue it’s just how the language evolved. It could be a plethora of reasons. What I gave you is an explanation on why sex is devolving

😆 that’s funny. I literally gave a direct reason to ops question and now you’re just insulting me personally. It isn’t a narrative. It’s facts. What do you think porn does? It makes sex more available and less important or sacred. So language is obviously gonna go down to less positive connotations surrounding it. It’s a perfectly reasonable hypothesis

What does “sex is devolving” even mean? Bro people are having less sex now than they were 50 years ago😭 You see one bonnie blue or a few people with 10-15 bodies and make a general conclusion on a this generation when they had literal brothels in the past💀 And it took you FOUR comments to give me the “plethora of reasons”

Hookups are a different thing because the abstract acts people want can happen independently and do not need to be from the hookup culture. Before the hookup culture was all that ways if they want just pleasure. Now it’s an internet culture that seeks abstract acts that they use as a drug to get their high. In other words, people just want their drug and use people as a resource but in a very abstract way.
