the purpose of birth control is that it prevents ovulation, still he your period and all but you do not ovulate, pill, patch, ring, iud, implant all stop ovulation like that’s like of the point to not get pregnant

Small important note here: this only applies to the hormonal IUD, copper IUD does not prevent ovulation

because the copper iud is non hormonal therefore of course it doesn’t stop ovulation but every other birth control method besides condoms and vasectomies for men have hormones in them
