genuine question mostly to the black community...why do people hate biracial/mixed people so much? i've had more racist and hate comments towards me from more black people than any other race and i don't understand why. no hate, just please tell me why.

There's some people that don't think the bloods should be mixed. It's an abomination to them

(As a mixed person) I’ve found that a lot of it has to do with colorism and phenotypes especially in the black community. Sometimes it’s jealousy, sometimes it’s hatred for white ppl, sometimes it’s internalized racism and colorism. Either way there’s no excuse and ppl should be kind to everyone smh.

I’ve wondered (I’m white) The same thing, I don’t see the same thing from the white communities to the same level

Yeah that’s exactly why lol. I’m not saying you specifically, but a lot of mixed kids look down on black people & their own blackness. Often because their black parent had a deep rooted well of self hate which influenced their kid. And yeah yeah ik not everyone who dates outside of their race is like that, but unfortunately with the older generation that’s more often the case than not. So a parent co-signing negative stereotypes against black people WILL have an effect on how their child views &

Interacts with black people. Maybe you don’t notice your own biases but others do and they match your energy. It could be something little like fishing for compliments about having “good” hair or calling stuff ghetto in a nasty voice idk. And sometimes jealousy and colorism but in MY experience it’s usually not that. A lot of mixed girls will have a “holier than thou” attitude which others dislike.

Alternatively, the black community does try to minimize/erase lighter skinned people’s blackness for not fitting a stereotype. It’s annoying asf. But that’s usually comments like being called an Oreo or “that’s your white side”. If you’re getting HATE then look in the mirror high key.

So while you may feel more comfortable with white people, Black folks will take that as your othering yourself, when in reality you’re black. You might be half white but white people will never see you as white. So it’s interesting when mixed people are so eager to say they’re not black they’re mixed, because yes it’s technically true but society sees you as black. Like jay z said, still 🥷. Black ppl notice that standoffishness and don’t fw it because subconsciously your giving coon/enemy.

most of the time i just say im black. but i probably should think more about my actions or tendencies and i don’t look down on black people at all, i so badly want their acceptance of me and that’s probably why im around more white people because they see me as black. thank you for telling me
