I think it really just comes down to how much you appreciate the service. It doesn’t matter what kind of establishment it is or if it’s owned by a Rich mf. If you genuinely feel the staff is taking care of you and you appreciate their service, then you tip. And I’d tip good at that, 20% at a few places I love like my favorite coffee shop. They show kindness and care to me, so I show kindness and care to them
20% at a restaurant?!? Are you insane?! 10% only unless it’s OUTSTANDING service then 15%. Coffee shops get $1 tip per drink if I’m feeling gracious for the day (I also go to the same local small business coffee shops daily so I’m already supporting them) same $1 per drink for alcoholic beverages for the bartenders tip jar
And don’t ever tip at a fast food place. They are owner by millionaires and if you think they pay out those tips… likely not happening. Instead find small business restaurants to support. My general rule of thumb; is I don’t sit down, they don’t bring me a menu, and they don’t serve it to me: no tip.
