You mean jizyah? Yeah that’s literally just taxes and it’s less than you have to pay right now as a citizen of your own country. Plus as long as you pay it they protect your property and life like it’s their own. That’s also only applicable under a Muslim country who actually applies sharia which is like, one to none

“Bend to the knee to become Muslim” but the Quran says 2:256 “There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become clear from the wrong…”. I don’t like fear mongering. Sharia isn’t all about peace but it’s not all about chaos either. It’s like any other legal system and Muslims aren’t even allowed to insult other religions, much less hurt people because of it. What happens if you don’t pay taxes in the U.S.? Do you go to jail? I fail to see a difference

Shariah law is literally Qur’an and Sunnah (hadith), so if the Qur’an says “don’t force people to convert” and someone forces someone to convert or literally beheads them, then that cannot possibly be in the shariah. There’s religious extremists in all religions but I think we can agree that that doesn’t change the basis of the scripture or the law it goes by. It’s a part of the shariah that Christians and Jews HAVE to be allowed to live safely with the Muslims if they pay taxes. W/o converting.

Do you have a specific example of a Muslim in Europe trying to force someone to convert and saying that’s a part of the shariah? I believe you if you say someone tried to force their beliefs down others throats because unfortunately there’s people in every belief that does that, but I want an example where it specifically applies to something that came from our religious text that tells us to do that, because Islam explicitly states “no forced conversion”

There’s many examples online video where there are death threats given to those who don’t follow shariah law because to them once they invade and become the majority they want to make it like home. They do this in Canada and the states too. For example a liquor store owner in Houston was threatened byMuslims to shut down his store because alcohol is haram

Yes unfortunately there are people of all beliefs who don’t actually understand their religion and try to apply it on others, but that’s not shariah law. If it were a Muslim country, then yes, we could easily say “no alcohol”. But if it’s not our country then we can’t force anyone to shut down their businesses. That’s not a part of the shariah and I fail to see any reference from our texts that say otherwise. If shariah were applied there would be systems in place by scholars, not randoms.

By all means look at the honor killings that have been happening in Europe. Recently an 18 year old girl was honor killed by her brother and uncle because “she became too western”. It happened in Denmark this week

Are they Pakistani by chance? Honor killings are a cultural thing and don’t deserve connections to the religion at all. The Quran condemned the practice of pagan Arabs where they used to bury babies alive if they were girls, and the Sunnah said paradise lies at the feet of mothers, and that "There is no man whose two daughters reach the age of puberty and he treats them kindly for the time they are together, but they will gain him admittance to Paradise." Islam does not allow senseless killing.

I can show you lectures and fatawa on them as well if you’re actually open to understanding the religion and aren’t just looking for a reason to think we’re all bloodthirsty.

And lol? Of course anyone who isn’t a Muslim is an infidel Islamically. Anyone who isn’t a Christian is considered an infidel according to them as well, correct? So what’s the big difference? The definition of kaffir, the Islamic term for an infidel is “the one who conceals the truth”. That’s it.

Sure thing, I’m going to give you the tafsir by Ibn Kathir because that’s my go-to scholar and you’re welcome to ask for my sources. He says this was revealed after the Quraysh (a polytheistic arab tribe) violated a treaty of war with the Muslims during the holy months. Ibn Kathir explicitly states this applied ONLY to the polytheists of the Quraysh at that time, since they’re the ones who broke the treaty, and does NOT include all Muslims. All Muslims advocate for shariah law by definition btw

Allow me to correct myself since I am sincere, Ibn Kathir states this verse was revealed specifically after the Quraysh violated the treaty of war between them and the Muslims, and that’s why it was revealed. But he actually did not state that this ONLY applied to the polytheists of that time. That is likely because only Abrahamic religions are allowed in Muslim land (Christians and Jews), but other religions are not because they can’t pay the tax, so they would not be allowed to enter

Sure thing! All Muslims believe in shariah law considering it’s the law of the Quran and Sunnah. Not really a new concept. Just looks scary now because of political fear mongering. It’s literally less taxes than you’d have to pay as a citizen of your own country, but you’re welcome to have a problem with whatever you’d like. Your choice.
