Does anyone know the name of this story? A boy sails to find a place where people will be kind to him. He finds an island where people give him nice clothes and food. The island was called nowhere

I heard the story when I was in 6th grade. My teacher told it to us, along with a story about a ring that made happy people sad and sad people happy. She didn’t read these stories from a book, she knew them By memory
