no offense to your mother but that seems like a dumb understanding of attractiveness vs. sexual attraction. like I can go to an art gallery and admire beautiful paintings without wanting to fuck them. nothing weird about wanting a partner you find aesthetically pleasant whether or not there is a sexual component

like i get if you are sexually attracted to someone you probably need to be attracted to their face. but if you’re just attracted to someone’s looks that doesnt always mean you want to have sex with them does it?? bc how are you getting sexual thoughts from a face

Some of that has to do with historical and cultural heteronormative constructs sadly. Basically “if look good then sex good”. There’s no nuance, it’s dumb, and it’s sexual objectification I’m demi, so like, my experience and views are skewed, but like… I think it’s just something your mother doesn’t understand lol. And to be fair, most of society doesn’t (that’s changing with time, but historically especially)
