In specialized programs, students often form exclusive cliques that sometimes encourage negative discussions or a sense of superiority. This can make others feel isolated or hesitant to connect. I believe environmental changes—and more active involvement from professors in addressing these behaviors—could help, especially by reinforcing that we are all part of the same program, even if we pursue different directions within it.
